  • Acting for Two: Alexander Vlahos plays both himself and Mr. Moore in "The Living Image'".
  • Blooper: The later series', spirits of christmas and The Worlds Of Big Finish all have outtakes as a bonus track.
  • Casting Gag: Gabriel Woolf plays Lucifer yet again.
  • Contractual Immortality: Double Subverted. The end of series 2 in which Dorian slashes his portrait was intended to be the finale, but the series was renewed for a new series.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Alexander Vlahos has said that "The Heart That Lives Alone" and "Murder On 81st Street" are two of his favourite audios from the series.
  • Fake American: The English Sarah Douglas plays the American Dorothy Parker.
  • Fake Irish: The Welsh Steffan Rhodri as the Irish Oscar Wilde.
  • Fake Scot: The English Daniel Brocklebank plays the Scottish James Anderson.
  • Shrug of God: Scott Handcock's opinion on the ending of "Ever After", as he wanted to leave it ambiguous if it was really Dorian, in which case he would have survived the portrait, or he was just a delusional man who thought he was Dorian, in which case he died.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • "The Needle" originally didn't include Simon, but was added after Scott Handcock learned the story was set in a bank.
    • "The Enigma of Dorian Gray" was meant to have Alan Turing but it was eventually decided to replace him with Adam Notting.
    • "The Living Image" was originally meant to be set in The '80s, but it was moved to the 1940s to avoid conflicting with the Toby storyline of "The Heart That Lives Alone" and because the values of that time fit the story better.
    • "Angel of War" was originally meant to give James Anderson a boyfriend, but that character was cut.
    • Series 5 originally had a very different final story and ending, with Vlahos having been sent a different script and a few hours later getting an email for Handcock telling him to ignore it as he had a new idea. Handcock changes hid mind since he felt the original script was a bit "run of the mill" compared to the finalised script. This original script was eventually released in "The Lost Confessions" series as "The Last Confession".
  • Word of God: In the behind the scenes of Series 5, Vlahos says that he believes that Dorian visited Dottie shortly before her death in 1967, and he does similar things for other people he cared deeply about.
  • Written by Cast Member: Vlahos himself co-wrote "The Mayfair Monster".
