• Development Hell: The Kroffts were looking to reboot the series circa 2015. It was rumored that Cyndi Lauper would portray Benita Bizarre. At 2017's Comic Con, they released a teaser trailer of the pilot produced for Nickelodeon with clips of the new series with Lise Simms as Benita Bizarre. However, during a May 2018 radio interview with creator Marty Krofft, Marty revealed that the pilot was not picked up by Nickelodeon and was scrapped. He said they were reshooting the pilot and that Randy Jackson will be involved with the music. As of 2021, it still has not seen the light of day.
• Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy:
  • In illustrated form (coloring books, lunchboxes, and other similar merchandise), Harmony sports a large pair of sunglasses that he's never once wore on the series.
  • Similarly, Woofer and Tweeter are often drawn with oversized floppy hats that they likewise never wore on the series.
• What Could Have Been
  • Among the many young people who auditioned for the series, future singing sensation Phil Collins was considered for the role of I.Q.
  • On that token, the Kroffts also tried to shoot for a second season.
  • Wayne Laryea, Caroline Ellis, John Philpott and John Mcindoe were due to return to the states after spending Christmas with their families and come back to shoot the film with Columbia Pictures, Unfortunately the film studio went bankrupt the film got canceled and the actors went on with their lives
  • Interestingly Wayne Laryea who played Harmony in The Bugaloos went on to star in the British children series Inigo Pipkins on ITV.
  • On that note, John Mcindoe (IQ) went on to work with the Kroffts and created his own puppet company which he works with to this day
