• Creator Backlash: Christie had to write The Big Four because she desperately needed money. In the end she took several short story drafts (one of which was published independently) and cobbled together an overarching plot. She later referred to it as "that rotten book" and put a manuscript in reserve so she'd never be in such a situation again.
