• Colbert Bump: His videos have a tendency to increase demand for the featured product, resulting in increased prices, something he himself has acknowledged. Likewise, any music accidentally featured on his series will get any respective uploads on youtube swamped. Case in point: The Franck Pourcel Instrumental cover of Days of Pearly Spencer^note swamped with his viewers talking about imaginary girlfriends- apparently the gimmick of DJ Kenny Lynn whose background music tape, which uses the song overdubbed with actresses, got featured on the channel during an episode about broadcast tape cartridges and Anri's Cat's Eye (from the anime of the same name)^note Due to being featured on an episode about a Roland portable karaoke machine, and due to his extremely questionable performance of the song, resulted in video comments being spammed with “blah”s..
• Real Song Theme Tune: Cuba Baion, a tune that Mat found on a Tefifon cartridge, quickly became the Moans' theme song.
• Screwed by the Network: The Moans puppets have sadly been retired for the most part, a major part being YouTube's algorithm assuming that any puppet-containing video is meant to be child-facing media and then demonetising it. In 2022, Mat listed other reasons as well, such as him running out of jokes for the puppets to make, the primary filming location for the puppet sketches no longer being available and the physical problems involved in moving the puppets.
