- Box Office Bomb: Made for a budget of $4 million, and only earned $100,000 at the box-office, with its home video releases faring little better. Even Diary of the Dead, as poorly-received as that film was, managed to cover its budget in what little theatrical release it got. Though this can be kinda misleading as this film also got a very limited theatrical release.
- Creator Killer: George A. Romero never directed anything after this film, and all talk of him making another Living Dead entry went nowhere.
- Magnum Opus Dissonance: Romero once said that this was his second favorite zombie movie he’s directed. Fan reactions are much colder towards the film, as it’s seen as not only the worst of his zombie movies, but the worst film of his filmography.
