- Teasing Creator: For several years, the dev team claimed that Ruby would only be able to romance other members of team RWBY. When it did release, the announcement page on tumblr claimed that there are "seven romance paths" and that Ruby would be able to romance everyone else on teams RWBY and JNPR—which is true, except that Ren and Nora share a romance path. The seventh romance is with Penny Polendina, who is not mentioned anywhere in the announcement.
- Throw It In!: On the Jaune romance path, Yang ends up with Weiss, Blake, and Pyrrha in the epilogue due to a glitch. The dev team decided to leave it in.
