• Meaningful Release Date: In this episode, Ruby expresses desire for independence. Ruby and Sapphire are red and blue, respectively, which are two of the three colors on the American flag. Fittingly, this episode aired on Independence Day 2018.
• Similarly Named Works: There is also an episode of The Amazing World of Gumball titled "The Question".
• Spoiled by the Merchandise: In February 2018, designs for 3D foam keychains were showcased at the New York Toy Fair with Ruby, Sapphire, and Steven in wedding attire. Between this and the reveal of the episode title fans were able to figure out what "the question" was before it was even asked.
