• Acting for Two: Rodney and Rod, which makes sense since he's just Alternate Universe McCay.
• Continuity Lock-Out: Minor example with Carter being unable to accompany Rodney and his sister back to Atlantis because there is simply too much happening back home. SG-1 viewers will know she's talking about the Ori Crusade, though no explicit mention of the Ori's made here.
• Defictionalization: The alternate universe Rodney says that where he comes from, there is an active Mensa chapter on Atlantis. The Columbus, Ohio Area Mensa received temporary permission from Mensa to sell buttons saying "Atlantis Chapter" with profits going to scholarship funds.
• Real-Life Relative: McKay's sister Jeannie is played by Kate Hewlett, David Hewlett's real life sister.
• Recycled Set: The house used for the exterior of Jeannie's home is the same one used for Samantha Carter on SG-1.
