• Acting for Two: Naturally, Robert Picardo also plays the Equinox EMH.
• Creator Backlash: Ron Moore, who began a short-lived spell on the Voyager writing staff with the second half of the episode — he was the only Star Trek: Deep Space Nine staff writer to transfer over to Voyager when that show ended, albeit Michael Taylor and Bryan Fuller had written freelance for DS9 before becoming staff writers on Voyager — quickly became disillusioned with the show after his experience working on this episode. Chief among his complaints were that Janeway's extreme grudge against Ransom wasn't properly developed and was never mentioned again after the story ended, and neither was her fall-out with Chakotay.
• Meaningful Release Date: "Equinox: Part II" premiered on September 22, 1999, the same day as the autumn equinox that year.
