  • Brent Spiner actually doesn't think too highly of his performance in this episode. Since work on "Thine Own Self" had literally just wrapped the night before shooting this episode, he didn't feel he had the time he needed to fully explore all the characters that inhabit Data. He tried to protest to Jeri Taylor only to have her respond: "We believe in you."
  • Michael Dorn cited this episode as his least favorite of the series.
  • Spiner later said he and Patrick Stewart really annoyed the crew during the final scene because they could not get through it without laughing.
• Deleted Scene: A Ten Forward scene where Riker, Geordi and Troi discuss the rogue comet that came in contact with the Enterprise in 2370. Riker is a little annoyed when he receives a snack and drink which he did not order. Troi takes a bit of the snacks, and she likes it. Geordi scans the drink and discovers it to be blood. Riker wants to talk to the bartender, but Geordi insists that it might not be his fault.
