• Author's Saving Throw: Gene Roddenberry never liked that he used the Klingons as the "Race of Black Hats" in The Original Series, and thus made Worf as a Klingon main character and this episode completely redefined their place as a Proud Warrior Race.
• What Could Have Been: The fight between Worf and Korris originally took place entirely on the first deck of the engineering section. Instead, director Rob Bowman had them fight on the upper deck and, using camera angles never before seen the show, filmed vertical sequences in that part of the set.
• You Look Familiar: The first of many appearances for Vaughn Armstrong.
