• Acting for Two: Carlos Alazraqui voices both Admiral Buenamigo and the Aledo, as its onboard computer has the admiral's voice (albeit with a Creepy Monotone).
• Real Life Writes the Plot: T'Lyn was intended to be a one-shot character. By the time the show's writers became aware of her surprising popularity among fans, with many of them hoping she would join the Cerritos crew, much of the third season had already been written. Her appearance at the end of the episode was hastily added so that she could appear in the fourth season.
• Shout-Out: The USS Van Citters is named for John Van Citters, Vice President of Star Trek Brand Management at CBS.
