• In Memoriam: Infamously defied. The production crew wanted a special credit that read "In Memory of Eiji Tsuburaya" as he expressed interest in working on the film before his death, but Toho, for reasons unknown, denied their request, thus angering many of the film’s staff.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Ishir⁠ō Honda planned to shoot the film in Guam, but due to budget restrictions he was forced to shoot it on the Hachijo Islands.
  • Eiji Tsuburaya was to work on the special effects for this movie, but sadly passed away 2 days after production started.
