• Box Office Bomb: The film wasn't a bomb. It was a complete disaster. The film made a minuscule $123,104 domestically in its opening weekend alone. Word of mouth spread so fast that the film didn't make a dollar more.
• Creator Backlash: David himself expressed regret for making this "comedy" and when a poster for it was put in the first episode of his show Curb Your Enthusiasm, he had it removed because he hated looking at it. Since he plays himself in the show he hates having his wife lend it to people and doesn't believe it when they say they enjoyed it unironically, saying that they're just trying to be polite.
• Creator Cameo: Larry David played a few bit parts in the film as a studio executive, an annoying doctor, and a singing bum.
