• Approval of God: Mark Rosman, who directed the original, gave his approval of the remake. He described it as "The Bourne Identity meets Scream."
• Executive Meddling: Subverted. Originally planned as an R-rated film, it was going to be toned down to PG-13 after the success of the Prom Night remake. But Summit changed their mind and restored it back to R.
• Fake American: British Julian Morris's American accent as Andy comes and goes.
• Follow the Leader: Following on from Black Christmas (2006), a remake of a slasher film featuring sorority girls.
• Typecasting: Leah Pipes had played a similar Alpha Bitch in Odd Girl Out the previous year.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Leah Pipes auditioned for Ellie first. But casting directors found she was a better fit for the role of Jessica.
  • Jamie Chung claims she refused to go nude, feeling it didn't serve any purpose beyond Fanservice. Leah Pipes didn't want to go nude either, joking that she was too flat-chested to do so.
