• Ascended Extra: The Riddling Reaver, who had a minor appearance in this book, would later star in his own multi-player special edition gamebook, The Riddling Reaver.
• The Cameo: Take a close look on the front cover, inside the floating prison. Did you see a mysterious, hooded figure with a painted face somewhere at the bottom of the cell? That's the Riddling Reaver making a quick cameo.
• What Could Have Been: The original proposed ending would have the player sacrificing himself in the titular abyss to free the prisoners, resulting in a Bittersweet Ending where the player exchanged his freedom for Kallamehr. However Steve Jackson insists on changing its ending to the A God Am I conclusion.
