Trivia / 17776

  • Author's Saving Throw: One of the complaints about 17776 was that, because of the constrained amount of time Jon gave himself to publish it, not a lot of details were fleshed out fully (to the point where one of the last things JUICE does in the story is rush through a list of points they could not get through before Nine goes back to sleep). With 20020, Jon admitted on Twitter that the story was too long to be able to be covered in 12 parts... in the same tweet that announced 20021, the third installment of 17776 and what is effectively the direct sequel to 20020, in order to tell the story in full.
  • Creator-Driven Successor: 17776 was originally conceived as a sequel to Bois's earlier The Tim Tebow CFL Chronicles, and both works revolve around an absurdist take on football and share similar existentialist themes.
  • Schedule Slip: 20021 was originally planned to come out early in 2021, roughly mirroring the small Time Skip between it and 20020, but Bois decided to delay it indefinitely due to not being able to fully devote himself to the project and wanting to make sure it lived up to his and fans' expectations.
