  • Creator Backlash:
  • Dummied Out:
    • The Laser Turret is seen during one of the cutscenes. It didn't make it into the game.
    • A Gnaar Voodoo Doll graphic would be seen in the same game as well, right as soon as you explore its .gro files.
  • Executive Meddling: The game suffered from this according to comments from Croteam employees. 2K Games insisted on a tight development schedule, a Lighter and Softer tone and cartoon-like art style, and prohibited the development team from speaking about the game outside officially sanctioned events. When the game received a mixed reception from fans, Croteam split from 2K and disowned the final product.
  • Refitted for Sequel:
    • The v2.90 patch restores a cut weapon from the game (the Beam Gun) as well as salvaging some of the scrapped maps.
    • The "Dual Weapons" option was meant to be a power-up called "Combo Weapons" before it was scrapped. It was reimplemented in the 2021 update.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Croteam was planning to remake II to keep it on par with the rest of the series, but the idea was shelved.
    • Another power-up called "Serious Disco" ended up being cut from the final game. It was meant to cause all the enemies in the area to dance, leaving them vulnerable.
    • One of the planets cut from the final game is Pechina, a desert planet with a military base. It would end up being split into Kronor and Sirius, only without the desert theme.
