Trivia / Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Go To

  • Actor Allusion: Not the first time Roger L. Jackson has voiced a villainous primate.
    • One of the "finer things" Max's Superego attempted to steer Max towards was beatboxing, one of the many things his voice actor, Andrew Chaikin, is known for.
    • Even before that, Andrew Chaikin was originally the voice of Max in The first episode, now returned to the series as an aspect of Max's psyche.
  • Ascended Fanon: One of the most popular theories about the Narrator's origins was that he was a guardian angel looking out for the Freelance Police. When Sam encounters the Narrator, should Sam choose the "You're lying" prompt, the Narrator admits that he's really an angel looking out for Sam and Max...before reiterating that no, he's actually the manifestation of Max's superego before snarkily stating "Sometimes the best answers are the simplest ones."
  • The Cameo: In "Beyond the Alley of the Dolls", we briefly see one of the Sam clones hold a plush bunny. In which Telltale game did we see it before?
    • There's a BLU dispenser in the lab in the same episode. It even makes the same sound effects and won't open unless hit with a wrench eight times.
  • What Could Have Been: Developer's commentary revealed that Bosco and Momma Bosco's ancestors were meant to be on the train with Sameth and Maximus.
