Trivia / Rusty Rivets

  • Adored by the Network: When the series was originally slated for an August 2016 release, Nick Jr. released a sneak peek of an episode on its mobile platforms, something that the channel rarely does. After it premiered in November 2016, it has instantly become a popular show on the network, getting tons of promotion and getting renewed for a second season before it was even a year old. Unfortunately, it later got screwed.
  • Channel Hop: New episodes were moved to the Nick Jr. channel midway through the second season.
  • He Also Did: Rusty's voice actor, Kyle Harrison Breitkopf, was also the first voice of Greg/Gekko.
  • The Resolution Will Not Be Identified: Despite the show ending production after three seasons, the last episode plays out regularly like all the others.
  • Screwed by the Network:
    • The show had a sneak peek on digital platforms in June 2016, and was slated to premiere on August 22, 2016, but was pulled due to Arc Productions, who animated the show, going bankrupt. All traces of it were scrubbed from the Nick Jr website until it officially premiered on November 8, 2016. The rest of the series is animated by Jam Filled Toronto.
    • The show proved to be a hit and Nickelodeon pushed it as hard as they could, with rampant promotions, a second season renewal, and merchandise. But it wasn't as successful as fellow Spin Master show PAW Patrol, and was shoved to the Nick Jr sub-network in December 2018, which is pretty much always a death sentence for a show. The show ended in May 2020 with little fanfare.
  • Rereleased for Free: Starting in May 2022, and slowly but surely, Spin Master is uploading full episodes to YouTube one by one on their Spin Kids YouTube channels (The episode Rusty Learns To Skate has been blocked by Paramount for some reason despite the fact that Spin Master owns the rights to the show, until now, the episode has it's copyright claim removed and is now viewable on YouTube again.)
