• Trolling Creator: Jean Harlow was actually nude when filming the barrel scene, so at one point she stood up topless and said "one for the boys in the lab". Victor Fleming quickly turned the camera away to prevent any footage from reaching the black market.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The scene where Dennis finds Vantine bathing in a barrel was supposed to have a line where she says "Don't you know? I'm La Flamme, the girl who drives men wild" - but Jean Harlow refused to say it.
  • Greta Garbo was the original choice for Vantine. But the script underwent a drastic re-write and producers decided that Jean Harlow would be a better fit instead.
