I was born in Croydon, and I come from a theatrical family, and I started my career in the chorus dressing up me legs! I wasn't really good enough because I couldn't keep in line with the others, so I thought I'd better go out and get a part. So, I did, and that was the start of it all."

Pamela Isabel Cundell, (15 January 1920 — 14 February 2015), was a British actress best known for playing Mrs. Fox in Dad's Army.

Her interest in acting came from her family, which was in show business. Early on, she attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, following which she appeared in repertory theatre. In 1957, she made her first TV appearance alongside Peter Sellers and Michael Bentine. She appeared in two episodes of Dad's Army's third series as Mrs. Fox, a role she would continue to play regularly until the end of the series in 1977.

Outside of her role in Dad's Army, Cundell had guest roles in many other Britcoms, including Are You Being Served?, Bless This House, Bread (1986), Goodnight Sweetheart, and Potter. From 1984 to 1986, she starred in Big Deal as Vi Box and from 2005 to 2006, she played Nora Swann in five episodes of EastEnders.

Later in her career, she got involved in amateur theatre. She was the President of the Harlequins Theatre Club and directed plays with her Dad's Army co-star Frank Williams.

She was married to fellow actor Bill Fraser (and starred with him in the first series of The Train Now Standing...) and died at the age of 95.
