Trivia / Raven's Home

Go To

  • Adored by the Network: Disney Channel loves airing reruns of this series multiple times every day.
  • Queer Character, Queer Actor: In Season 5, Raven’s assistant Nikki is a transgender female (she explicitly identified herself as such), just like her actress Juliana Joel.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot:
    • Kyle Massey and Orlando Brown's extremely serious legal problems definitely contribute to the decision to not have their characters appear on the show, and it's for this same reason Brown couldn't return to The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder either. Especially notable for Massey as the rest of the Baxter eventually made an appearance.
    • Near the end of production of Season 3, Raven-Symone broke her wrist from a hoverboard accident. So, in the final three produced episodes, Raven wears a bejeweled sling, as she broke her wrist from a similar slip-up.
    • Subsequent episodes of Season 4 (starting with "Mad About Yuletide") feature an in-universe quarantine, according to the Coronavirus Pandemic which resulted in a real-life quarantine itself. As a result, some of the background characters are seen wearing surgical masks, like how people nowadays wear them to avoid spreading the disease.
  • Romance on the Set: Somewhat ironically, Anneliese van der Pol and Johnno Wilson. who played Chelsea and her ex-husband Garrett Grayson respectively, are engaged in real life.
  • Sequel Gap: It premiered ten years after the original series ended, and nine years after the spinoff ended.
  • Those Two Actors: Isaac Ryan Brown (Booker) and Leslie David Baker (principal) both work on Puppy Dog Pals.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Before Devon Carter was revealed to be Raven's ex-husband and the father of Booker and Nia, Raven's ex (and the twins' dad) was originally going to be a man named David (nothing was said about his last name).
    • Originally, it was actually Nia who was going to have inherited Raven's psychic abilities instead of Booker.
    • Disney initially approached Raven-SymonĂ© about making her character a lesbian, just like her, but she shot the idea down because she felt that it didn't make sense to change the character's sexuality after so many years just to suit the actor playing her.
