  • Channel Hop: The band left Mercury Records in favor of Epic Records with this album. The move happened so late that Mercury briefly gave out promotional copies of the album to radio stations.
  • Cut Song: Early promotional CDs by Mercury Records feature the track "Queen of Compromise" after "Sorry". The final release would swap this out with "Humdrum and Humble", relegating "Queen of Compromise" to the B-side of the Title Track's single release; it would also be featured as a bonus track on the 2009 expanded reissue.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: The live Cover Version of "Creep" released as a B-side to "God's Mistake" was excluded from the 2009 reissue, which featured all of the album's other associated B-sides, due to rights issues with Radiohead.
  • What Could Have Been: Promotional CDs given out by Mercury Records (prior to the band's Channel Hop to Epic Records) lacked "I Choose You" and featured "Queen of Compromise" in place of "Humdrum and Humble". US promo CDs additionally feature an earlier version of the album cover, depicting a sketch of a bull against a black backdrop; the final release would replace this with a photo of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
