• Technology Marches On: Had this episode been produced today, Shawn's cell phone would have been a smartphone, and he could have used it to access the HTML-based Internet (i.e. the Internet as you are using it now). At the time, smartphones were expensive and mainly used in the corporate world, and the only cell phone Internet access would be the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), relatively little used, limited in capability, and expensive. Mobile Internet access as we know it today only came to be widely used by the very late-2000s, early-2010s.
• What Could Have Been: Tying with the various Twin Peaks Shout Outs, David Lynch himself was to guest star on this episode, although Lynch ended up not being invited because of James Roday Rodriguez's concerns with what Lynch might have thought of it.
• Written by Cast Member: James Roday Rodriguez, who plays Shawn Spencer, co-wrote this episode with Bill Callahan, a frequent Psych producer and writer. Roday has called Twin Peaks his favorite series of all time.
