• Author's Saving Throw: The 1.3.1 update fixed the EXP gain so it's quicker to level up, removing a lot of tedium and especially making the Sevii Post-Game substantially less of a slog. Lorelei on Four Island was also finally updated to actually serve as a Move Deleter so players don't have to travel all the way back to Johto to speak to the man in Blackthorn City. This was done by the lead developer in response to the many criticisms they received in regards to how slow the late game felt to get through.
• Dummied Out: In earlier builds of the game the Legendary Bird trio were remixed to resemble ultra beasts, and had been designed with unique dual typing of their original element and the fabled ??? type. Since then, these forms have been left unobtainable within the game in favor of completely new designs that resemble exotic deep sea life.
• Trolling Creator:
  • One of the developers has said on record on their official Discord server that they derive joy out of making intentionally frustrating elements to "balance out" the streamlined elements that were added in. This ultimately came to a head with the Regi side quest, where people have unanimously expressed extreme dislike for how the puzzles were handled, but the only consistent response they get was how it was all according to plan.
  • When asked about it, one of the developers has explained that they don't like implementing quality of life suggestions to their ROM hack because it goes against their intention of preserving the original Gen 2 Pokémon experience. This is immediately contradicted by the fact that their ROM hack includes unlimited TM use, new locations, and the physical/special split that wasn't introduced until Gen 4.
