• Acting for Two:
  • In "Shaladdin," Rainbow Dash plays a fruit vendor, a guard, and the tiger. Applejack calls Pinkie out on it, and she insists it was because they ran out of the budget due to turning Applejack into a monkey and Rarity into the Cave Of Wonders.
  • In "Egghead and the Beast," all three of the mares swooning over Dashton (Gaston played by Rainbow Dash) are played by Fluttershy (though unlike the "Shaladdin" example, each of them has a different voice actor).
  • In "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors," after Applejack gets annoyed with who was initially cast as the prince, she recasts the role with Rainbow Dash, who was also playing Sky Blue.
  • Averted in "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors" as well. The rest of the titular group are not actually played by Pinkie herself, but by Mirror Pool clones of her.
  • Magpiepony plays both Pinkie and Adagio in "The Little Mermare" and Pinkie and Chrysalis in "Slumber Jack" (she also plays Pinkie and Trixie in "Egghead and the Beast," and Pinkie, Trixie, and Granny Smith in "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors" but the characters don't have any interactions).
  • TheLostNarrator plays both Applejack and Rainbow Dash in "Raripunzel" and "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors," although in the latter, the two only interact when Applejack is disguised as someone else.
  • PegasusPitchVA also plays both Flim and Flam in "Applejack and the Beanstalk."
• Actor Allusion:
  • In "The Little Mermare", Pinkie and Rainbow Dash (playing the roles of Ariel and the prince, respectively) are voiced by Magpiepony and TheLostNarrator who are a couple in real life. Magpiepony has even said in some of their videos that she finds their relationship to be similar to Pinkiedash.
  • Also, one of the three Fluttershys in "Egghead and the Beast" is voiced by Mary Medley and is swooning over Dashton (Gaston played by Rainbow Dash), played by PurpleRoselyn. These two are also a couple in real life, and are Flutterdash shippers.
  • In "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors," Applejack's evil plan involves a shovel. She is voiced in this episode by TheLostNarrator, and one of her most notable fanfic reading bloopers is telling Apple Bloom to "bring the shovel" as Applejack.
• Approval of God: OpticSpectrum, one of the artists for "The Little Mermare" took an image he drew for it and actually had it signed by Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989) as seen here.
• Author Appeal: There has been an episode for both of Magpiepony's favorite ships: Pinkiedash ("The Little Mermare") and Rarijack ("Raripunzel").
• Cross-Dressing Voices:
  • Spike, whenever he has a speaking role, is played by a female VA.
  • The princesses in "Discord Tales" are all played by male VAs, which makes sense there because it's Discord coming up with the story.
  • One of the three Fluttershys in "Egghead and the Beast" is inexplicably voiced by Ryan Waddy, a male VA.
  • Nowacking voices Vinyl Scratch in "Egghead and the Beast" (he is a female-to-male transgender man, though had not publicly come out as such at the time of the episode).
  • Another not out at the time FtM trans VA, Emogak (now known as Kai Wolfe) voiced Rarity in "The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Rariwolf."
• Descended Creator: Just like in her other major series, Magpiepony voices Pinkie Pie here. She also voices Adagio in "The Little Mermare" who, at one point in the story, gets Pinkie's voice, Trixie in "Egghead and the Beast" and "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors," Chrysalis in "Slumber Jack," who swaps roles with Pinkie in the story, and Granny Smith in "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors."
• Ink-Suit Actor: Magpiepony and technically ObabScribbler, TheLostNarrator, and GutiuSerenade in "Discord Tales" voice themselves as their original characters (with the latter three, it's actually their faces on Discord's body, but still with their personalities). Also, Silver Quill in "Raripunzel" (unseen, but evident given his remark about being a hippogriff), and based on that, possibly the other narrators as well. "Discord Tales 2" pretty much confirms it, with TheLostNarrator pretty clearly playing her OC in the episode, even if we don't see it.
• The Other Darrin: Due to Magpiepony casting individually for each episode, the only major character to have the same VA in all episodes is Pinkie Pie (being voiced by Magpiepony herself due to being the storyteller) However, during the auditions for "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors," she asked for people to audition for Pinkie Pie, which made it sound like this was the first time in her series she would not be voicing Pinkie. As it turned out, she DID still voice Pinkie in the episode, but needed the other VAs for Pinkie's Mirror Pool clones who play the rest of the Seven Colors (if anyone's curious, they are Lullaby VA, Quirky Craft, MuseScript, RibonChan, StarryFlame, and PurplePartyTiger). Somewhat justified in that each character plays a different character in universe in every episode. To break it down:
  • Fluttershy has had the most voice actors, though this is due to "Egghead and the Beast" using three Fluttershys. She has been played by Mary Medley ("Applejack and the Beanstalk" and one of the three in "Egghead and the Beast"), Kirakirtle aka ToffeeMash ("Cindershy"), HollyAllenVA ("Shaladdin"), Vannamelon ("The Little Mermare"), RibonChan (one of the three in "Egghead and the Beast"), Ryan Waddy (one of the three in "Egghead and the Beast"), Katie Patterson ("Discord Tales 2"), Imit4tor ("Slumber Jack"), and Cloud9 ("Sky Blue and the Seven Colors").
  • For characters who don't play multiple roles in an episode, Applejack and Rarity are the biggest offenders. Applejack has been played by GloryoftheRainWings ("Applejack and the Beanstalk" and "Slumber Jack"), Wubcake ("Little Red Riding Bloom"), Kim Daniels ("The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Rariwolf" and "Discord Tales"- probably because it was as the same character), DisneyFanatic2364 ("Cindershy"), LillyLeafVA ("Shaladdin"), Choral Seashelle ("Egghead and the Beast") and TheLostNarrator ("Raripunzel" and "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors"). Rarity has been played by Raechel Anderson ("Applejack and the Beanstalk" and "Discord Tales"- probably because it was as the same character), Emogak ("The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Rariwolf"), TrebleSketch ("Cindershy" and "Raripunzel"), IMShadow007 ("Shaladdin"), DisneyFanatic2364 ("The Little Mermare"), itsannachloem ("Egghead and the Beast"), and Agent0Fluffy ("Slumber Jack").
  • Rainbow Dash was the first character besides Pinkie to be voiced by one person in multiple appearances, being voiced by TheLostNarrator in "Applejack and the Beanstalk," "Cindershy," "The Little Mermare," "Raripunzel," "Slumber Jack," and "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors." However, she has also been voiced by Brittney Ackerman in "The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Rariwolf," Silver Swirls in "Shaladdin," and PurpleRoselyn in "Egghead and the Beast." The reason TheLostNarrator gets the role most of the time could be because she's Magpiepony's girlfriend, and now wife.
  • Twilight has been played by IMShadow007 ("Applejack and the Beanstalk"), itsannachloem ("The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Rariwolf"), LillyLeafVA ("Cindershy"), Ashley H ("Shaladdin"), GloryoftheRainWings ("The Little Mermare"), Chippa ("Egghead and the Beast"), and Neon Visions ("Sky Blue and the Seven Colors").
  • Spike has been played by GloryoftheRainWings ("Cindershy"), and Caitbug ("Egghead and the Beast"). He also appears in "The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Rariwolf," but has no lines. In "Shaladdin," Applejack is turned into Spike, but keeps her own voice.
  • Apple Bloom has been played by Pinkie Rose ("Little Red Riding Bloom"), Sophia K ("Cindershy"), and Sketch the Pegasus ("Egghead and the Beast").
  • Scootaloo has been played by Ice Gaze ("Cindershy") and Quirky Craft ("Egghead and the Beast").
  • Sweetie Belle has been played by CharponyVA ("Cindershy") and StarDash VA ("Egghead and the Beast").
  • Celestia has been played by Neighrator Pony ("Discord Tales") and Gina M ("Discord Tales 2")
  • Cadence has been played by WatchPony ("Discord Tales") and Blixemi ("Shaladdin").
  • Big Macintosh has been played by PegasusPitchVA ("Little Red Riding Bloom"), FerrousphantomVA ("Shaladdin"), and WildcardVA ("Raripunzel").
  • Granny Smith has been voiced by PurpleRoselyn ("Little Red Riding Bloom") and Magpiepony ("Sky Blue and the Seven Colors")
  • The only other characters to have averted this so far are Discord (voiced by Mic Roe Pony in both "Discord Tales" installments) and Trixie (voiced by Magpiepony in both "Egghead and the Beast" and "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors").
• Playing Against Type: "Little Red Riding Bloom" is one of the few MLP fan projects in which PurpleRoselyn voices someone other than Rainbow Dash (Granny Smith).
• Production Posse: Many of the people Magpiepony worked with in Princess Trixie Sparkle would voice their characters again at some point in this series including itsannachloem, Mary Medley, Wubcake, GloryoftheRainWings, PurpleRoselyn, and Mic Roe Pony, while others, like Emogak, PegasusPitchVA, Raechel Anderson, and TheLostNarrator would voice different characters at some point. PegasusPitchVA also returns as sound editor, and of course, Magpiepony voices Pinkie Pie again. The two also share a few artists.
• Series Hiatus: There hasn't been a new episode since "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors" in August 2019, despite "Spikenocchio" being teased at the end of it. It's possible that Magpiepony and TheLostNarrator's wedding, as well as the sequel to Princess Trixie Sparkle may have gotten in the way of production. Eventually, in April 2023, Magpie officially announced that the series had gone on hiatus due to her having a lot on her plate already with Princess Trixie Sparkle 2: Fragments and Shadows, as well as the Ask Ponies series and the What If ____ Was a Princess videos.
• Trolling Creator: During the auditions for "Sky Blue and the Seven Colors," Magpiepony asked for people to audition for Pinkie Pie, which made it sound like this was the first time in her series she would not be voicing Pinkie.
