Trivia / Pentatonix

  • Breakthrough Hit: They've had a cult following for many years but their smash Christmas album That's Christmas to Me was the one that turned them into a bona-fide mainstream act.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: Their fans are called Pentaholics.
  • Fan Nickname: Kevin and Avi are known as "Meat" and "Potatoes", respectively, after a comment from Shawn Stockman naming the duo during their time on The Sing-Off (basically, they're the solid foundation of the band).
  • Old Shame: A mild version, but the group have made it clear on multiple occasions that they would prefer to forget majority of their performances on The Sing-Off.
  • One of Us:
    • Mitch and Kirstie have been noted on Twitter talking about manga. Kirstie in particular is a fan of Sailor Moon.
    • Avi is also an avid fan of Game of Thrones and Tolkien's Legendarium.
    • And if you haven't guessed it yet, Scott really loves Beyoncé. It shouldn't come as a surprise that he was the one who suggested the Evolution of Beyoncé video.
  • Throw It In: During an early performance of Telephone, Avi and Kevin walked behind the trio and gave each other a "bro-hug". This has been included in every live performance of the song since, as a metaphor of the two new additions to the group, despite the fact that it was originally just supposed to be a one time occurrence.
  • What Could Have Been: Kevin originally turned down Scott's offer to join the group, as he had no intentions of going into a musical career. It was only because Scott was so convincing (and he offered to pay half for Kevin's plane ticket), that Kevin eventually agreed.
