• Mutually Fictional: It's heavily implied that there's something like this going on - Jaune's favorite comic book turns out to be about two heroes All Might personally met in his youth, another comic is from another Pro-Hero Tokoyami admires, the students note the resemblance between Team RWBY and fairytale characters as well as Pyrrha's Ancient Greek armor, weaponry and her nickname of "invincible girl" are reminiscent of Achilles and his invulnerability while All Might points out the "coincidences" with The Wizard of Oz that Ozpin and his allies have with the characters in it.
• What Could Have Been: In the first special features chapter, the Chibi versions of Nezu and Ozpin reveal that an early concept of "Paragons" would have been a "Let's Watch Our Show" Plot in the manner of "The Princess Bride" where Class A would have recieved a mysterious DVD that would play the actual story. Despite not going this route, the story does still have original conceptual lyrics for an opening, and even detailed outros inspired by anime, and the chapters are even called "Episodes".
• Word of God: TheGreyGeneral has stated that, unless canon eventually states otherwise, they are specifically writing Bakugo and Ruby as if they were Asexual, in turn avoiding giving them Ship Tease with anyone.
