The film:

  • Dawson Casting: Linda Manz was almost twenty playing a fifteen-year-old.

The Electric Light Orchestra album:

  • Better Export for You: While the original European CD release in 1986 split the album across two discs, the concurrent Japanese CD release fits everything onto just one. This configuration would carry over to domestic CDs the following year as well as the US CD in 1988.
  • Multi-Disc Work: The LP release is spread across two discs, making it the band's one and only proper double album. 8-track and cassette releases managed to fit the album on one tape each due to it just barely surpassing the 70-minute mark. Meanwhile, the initial European CD release in 1986 split the album across two discs, with the Japanese edition and all releases on the format since 1987 managing to fit it all on one disc.
  • Similarly Named Works: "Turn to Stone" is unrelated to the 1988 song by Siouxsie and the Banshees (though that piece's parent album, Peepshow, has its share of string parts).
