• Dawson Casting: Shane West as Eli, who was 21 when the show started and he was playing a 16-17 year old. Also Eli's girlfriends; Carla, his girlfriend in season 2, was played by Audrey Marie Anderson, who was 25. (Averted with Jessie, Grace, Zoe, and Katie.)
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The third season has never been released on DVD. It was announced for a 2006 release, which was subsequently cancelled without explanation. Theories as to why have included music rights issues, or cold feet about the season's storylines (which included a teacher-student relationship and a lesbian romance).
