• Acting for Two: Creator and narrator Steve Shell voices the majority of the characters on the show, which makes it even more striking when characters voiced by Steve interact with those voiced by other actors.
• Descended Creator: Steve Shell narrates the show, and thus most of the characters, so this isn't too surprising. Writer and co-creator Cam Collins also steps in to voice Miss Lavinia for season 2 and Date Night.
• Teasing Creator: The creators often tease future plot lines, character appearances, and arcs on the Old Gods of Appalachia discord (open to the public).
• Word of God: Creator Steve Shell has confirmed several implied facts about the universe of of the show either on the Discord server or the official Twitter, such as the relationship between Those Who Sleep Beneath and the Things, and the alignments of certain supernatural characters.
• Write What You Know: The creator has noted more than once that the writers and creators of the show are Appalachia residents themselves.
