Trivia / Noita

  • Dummied Out: The game files contain several materials which were never implemented into the game along with one enemy which was not fully developed. Some of the materials were only utilized for the game's initial trailer while others seem to have been developer-only toys to test different material behaviors.
  • Game Mod: Introduced fairly early in the development cycle. Given the game's propensity for Explosive Stupidity it was little surprise that one of the first mods replaced the Noita with Megumin with a custom Explosion wand.
  • What Could Have Been: Many different sorts of games were considered using Noita's Falling Everything Engine, and even implemented and tested. Early versions include a Populous-style strategy game and a Terraria-style game without permadeath. Earlier versions also used a sci-fi setup rather than a fantasy one (observant players who use the modding tools will note that elements of this survive in the internal terminology), gave the player a huge inventory, had the player play a vampire-mage, had enemies randomly drop spells, and let you always edit wands anywhere. Some of those older rules (vampirism and editing wands everywhere) remained in the form of perks, but were once the game's default rules.
