Trivia page for Nioh 2

  • Approval of God: The developers got the permission of Naoki Yoshida before including his likeness as a character creator preset.
  • Blooper: In the cutscene introducing the mid-boss for "The High-Spirited Demon," Hide and Mumyo enter the scene from the opposite end of the bridge the player enters the arena from.
  • No Dub for You: Subverted. The original Nioh had a Japanese only cast barring the select few Western characters who do have appropriate British English voice actors for them. For the sequel, the dubbed language track provides English voice acting for most characters while still retaining Japanese voice work for Hide's grunts and the voices of enemy yokai.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Word of God states in an interview that Amabie's inclusion as a Guardian Spirit in "The First Samurai" was influenced by the Yokai becoming a sudden symbol of anti-viral countermeasures in Japan, following the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The game's DLC chapters were developed during the initial heights of the pandemic.
