  • Neither of the returning characters from the movie reprised their roles in the show on either side of the Pacific due to the high cost of bringing back the movie actors in both dubs and the English release being handled by a different licensee. In Japanese, Rikiya Koyama replaces Kōichi Yamadera as Jubei while Yuzuru Fujimoto replaces Takeshi Aono as Dokuan respectively. As for the English dub, David Rasner replaces Dean Wein as Jubei whereas Dwight Schultz replaces Stephen Apostolina as Dokuan.
  • Also, in the series dub, the villainess Rengoku was first voiced by Katy Selverstone in the third episode but was replaced by Candi Milo for her return in episode eight.
