  • Manual Misprint: There's a lot to write down here:
    • The crypt isn't mentioned in the list of areas in the game, though the monster entries and the girlfriend's entry do refer to it.
    • The treant common enemies encountered in the darkwood are not listed among the other monsters in the manual.
    • The Headless Lady is said to reside in the catacombs. She does not. She's to be found in the crypt.
    • Some monster entries don't list all places the creatures can be encountered at, such as how grasping limbs can be found in the catacombs and not only in the graveyard.
    • Hellhounds are listed as enemies that inhabit the Hecate's Den. They do not, as Hecate's Den only features (mini)bosses. Equally so, zombies are listed as haunting the village, but all enemies found there are rats and bats.
    • The entry for winged skulls mentions they can be found in the manor. There is no manor.
    • Mummies are said to be repelled by having the cross with you, but the section on the cross only mentions vampires. In the game, indeed, only vampires flee if the cross is obtained.
    • Some monster entries suggest behaviors the creatures do not have in-game. For the most part, this might be misleading but can be chalked up to flavor text. The notable exception are the ghosts, which very specifically are said to "appear out of portraits, tapestries or the very walls of the catacombs. At the same time, an object on the other side of you may begin to glow. When the glowing object reaches a certain intensity, the ghost will fly into it." There are neither portraits nor tapestries in the game and ghosts spawn and come at you just like any other monster except that ghosts can go up through floors too.
    • The Harpy's and the Fury's entries are written as if there's more than one of each to be encountered in the game. The Fury's entry also describes her as having snake hair, which the sprite does not have.
    • Hecate is said to have three faces in her true form, as per mythology. In the game, she has only one face.
  • What Could Have Been: There's nothing confirmed, but oddities in the game and the manual make it clear some things were Dummied Out and switched around.
    • The manor mentioned in the winged skull's entry is likely a cut area. There's various hints in the game and booklet that there are areas that just weren't implemented. For instance, missing areas would explain why three weapons — the iron sword, the rifle, and the crossbow — are found within seconds of each other in the crypt. The manor specifically would make for a logical location for the portraits and tapestries mentioned in the ghost's entry too.
    • Despite there being four surface areas and four bosses to defeat for animal forms, only three bosses are fought on the surface and the mire is an entire area where absolutely nothing is obtained or gained access to. Meanwhile, Hecate's Den hosts a Boss Bonanza that is half thematic (Medusa, the Fury, Hecate) and half random (Cerberus, the Harpy, and the Hydra) and therefore seems to incorporate enemies that were meant for other locations, whether as bosses or as regular enemies. The fact that hellhounds are said to run around in Hecate's Den further suggests it wasn't meant as a boss battle exclusive area.
    • The Fury's and Hecate's sprites must have been switched around at some point before finalization of their designs. Hecate's mythological attributes include the whip, the torch, and held snakes, which is what the Fury shows up with. Meanwhile, Hecate is depicted as having snake hair, which the mythological Hecate doesn't have but the mythological Fury often has. The manual even describes the Fury as having snake hair.
