  • Blooper: Due to a mastering error, the outro of "The Wedding List" contains a very audible pop in both channels; this extends to all reissues of the album across regions.
  • Inspiration for the Work: According to Bush, the symphonic rock sound and apocalyptic lyrics of "Breathing" were inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall from the previous year. Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour was previously the one who discovered Bush and got her signed to EMI.
  • Late Export for You: EMI America Records opted not to release the album in North America at first due to The Kick Inside and Lionheart underselling there. They would eventually release it in the region in 1984 after The Dreaming became her first album to chart Stateside.
