• Creator Backlash: A very interesting example — the director, Jeff Lieberman, was upset not at the ribbing ("I didn't give a shit; it's a movie about worms"), but the fact that he was getting very few royalties from the film as is, and how editing it down for a TV episode would cut into the number of times the full version was shown by itself on cable. It doesn't help, however, that he hated MST3K regardless, calling it a rip-off of horror show hosts such as Elvira and Zacherley.
