  • Creator Backlash: Anthony N. Putson, composer for the Game Boy Advance port of the game, says that it's some of his least favorite personal work.
  • Development Hell: In 2013, an official Mr. Nutz Facebook account was made, where Mr. Nutz original creator, Philippe Dessoly, confirmed to be working on a brand new Mr. Nutz game, but apart from a few updates, concept arts, model sheets and animation tests uploaded over the years, nothing has officially been released to the public.
  • Doing It for the Art: The entire game was made solely by two people working together on their own time.
  • No Export for You: Hoppin' Mad was only released in Europe.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original Mr. Nutz was originally planned as an Amiga title, but ended up launching on the SNES and other consoles instead.
    • Mr. Nutz: Hoppin' Mad was to receive a port to the Sega Genesis as Mr. Nutz 2 but got canceled as Ocean Software cut their ties with Sega's hardware.
