• Breakup Breakout: Her career compared to Shelly Martinez is bizarre. Despite having worked for both TNA and AAA, among many other high profile appearances Mercedes has done a lot more in pro wrestling and aside from maybe Mexico has the larger fan base.
• Fake Nationality: She was billed as a Mexican immigrant in Women's Extreme Wrestling, since she was Shelly's "sister". Given they had once billed Shelly as a Greek Egyptian, scrambling nationalities was hardly surprising in WEW.
• Real Song Theme Tune: (in IWA Mid-South): Angie Martinez, Big Pun, Cuban Link, Domingo & Sunkiss' "Live at Jimmy's"
• Reality Subtext: While she would later have nice things to say about Jessicka Havok, she reluctantly admitted to not getting along with her or Allysin Kay during their WSU Midwest Militia feud, which came out in some of Martinez's promos (or was at least taken that way by the other two)
• What Could Have Been: After losing a triple threat match with Daizee Haze and Sara Del Rey at the second SHIMMER show, Mercedes was unable to make it to the third because of a snowstorm. Also, Mercedes's role in SHIMMER and against Del Rey was planned to go in a very different direction this delay and a later injury after the eighth show derailed. Specifically, Mercedes was to be the main event brute of the promotion, which she did incidentally become in WSU but her absence in SHIMMER lead to Del Rey taking that role instead.
