Trivia / Loreena McKennitt

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: "Night Ride Across The Caucasus" received one after being featured in Soldier.
  • Creator Breakdown: Loreena suffered one in 1998 when her fiance died in a boating accident, leading to her dropping off the map almost completely and releasing no new albums for eight years.
  • Cut Song: The 2018 album Lost Souls, save for "The Breaking of the Sword" which was released as a single the previous year, consists of nothing but these, tracks which for one reason or another were rejected from previous albums.
  • One-Hit Wonder: The DNA remix of "The Mummer's Dance" was her only entry into the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Loreena wrote the soundtrack for the made-for-TV documentary "Goddess Remembered". One song from this, "Ancient Pines", appears on Parallel Dreams. She also wrote the theme music for "The Burning Times" (a feminist re-interpretation of the witchcraft trials), which she reworked as "Tango to Evora."
