Trivia / Lords of the Deep

• The Cameo: Co-producer Roger Corman plays the corrupt executive in a handful of video appearances.
• Colbert Bump: Much like Cry Wilderness and Killer Fish, this film that never had a page on TV Tropes until well after Mystery Science Theater 3000 covered it.
• Follow the Leader: This was one of a spate of low-budget 1989 movies — including the likes of DeepStar Six and Leviathan (1989) — which tried to pre-empt James Cameron's The Abyss. Oddly enough, it's the one with the storyline closest to The Abyss; it's unclear whether Roger Corman somehow found out the plot of that film and consciously ripped it off, or whether this film's screenwriters tried to subvert what they assumed to be the plot of Cameron's film, only to inadvertently copy it instead.
