• Actor Allusion: Interesting cross-generational one. Atticus repeatedly says how funny his father is and describes him as "the funniest man in the world" (although from what he hear of his jokes, it seems very much an in-universe Informed Attribute). Atticus is played by Joshua Sitch, son of Rob Sitch, a well-known Australian comedian and member of Working Dog Productions, famous for starring in shows such as Frontline and Utopia.
• Spiritual Successor: The 2019 series The InBESTigators was written by the same team of Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope, uses a similar mockumentary format, and also takes place in Grade 5.
