• Executive Meddling: The game's lead designer posted on its GOG.com page, explaining that they were told to "make Larry relevant to the 19-22-year-old set" and that "adventure games are dead" and "old-fashioned". He says they still tried to make the best game they could within those constraints, and still feels that they did a great job all things considered.

• Sequel Gap: Came out 8 years after the previous game in the series.
