- Schedule Slip: Was meant for an October 2016 release, which it missed for reasons unknown, and instead was released on October 2017 in theaters for a limited time and direct-to-video simultaneously.
- What Could Have Been:
- The film was originally going to include a more realistic version of 'Chop-Top' Sawyer from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Instead, the escaped teen Clarice was created as an homage to the character. Originally, Clarice was going to be albino and have a plate in her head, but it was decided this felt more like a rip-off than an homage. During the scene where Hal Hartman interrogates Clarice, she was originally going to tell him "Lick my plate, you pig!". There was also a scene in the original script where we'd see a file on Clarice revealing that her last name is Moseley.
- Betty Hartman's boyfriend at the beginning of the movie is Ted Hardesty, future father of Sally and Franklin. Originally there was going to be a later scene where Hal Hartman drives by the Hardesty farmhouse and we'd see Ted, now an adult, with kid versions of Sally and Franklin. It was cut for budgetary reasons.
