- Dueling Works: With Nash Bridges, as both shows combine humor and drama. Both are also filmed and set in California (San Francisco for Nash Bridges, Los Angeles and San Diego for L.A Heat). Though unlike L.A Heat, Nash Bridges stuck for a few more seasons until 2001.
- Fake American: Wolf Larson (Canadian) as Detective Chester "Chase" McDonald.
- Fatal Method Acting: During the filming of an early episode, stuntman Paul Dallas was killed on August 2, 1996 when he struck his head after landing on the edge of the airbag that was supposed to have broken his three-story fall. Unfortunately, he had been ejected backward and the back of his head had hit a metal railing.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: When a fan asked Echo Bridge Home Entertainment on the details of Season 2 being released on DVD, a EBHE rep says that they didn't have rights to it. Otherwise, it's available via Amazon for streaming.
- What Could Have Been: Wolf said that plans for a third season didn't push through due to PM Entertainment running into more financial problems that led the company to declare bankruptcy.
