Trivia / K.C. Undercover

Go To

  • Acting for Two: In The Stinger for "Tightrope Of Doom," the judge talking to K.C. is also played by a heavily disguised Zendaya.
  • Actor Allusion: In "Spy-Anoia Will Destroy Ya," Ernie's hot girlfriend Jolie (played by Bella Thorne) says of K.C. going to buy another kind of drink (lemonade), "Well, I guess it never hurts to Shake it Up."
    • It's very much become standard to make Zendaya's characters vegetarian, as KC is vegetarian.
    • In the first season finale, K.C.'s and Craig's aliases are names of characters they previously portrayed: Rocky Blue and Dwayne Wayne respectively. They even lampshade how ridiculous those names are. Meanwhile, in "The Mother Of All Missions" allusions to A Different World go up to eleven (Kira's sister/Abby's mother Erica, is found in Anguilla and is played by Jasmine Guy - Erica and Craig wonder why each one looks familiar - and Erica works in a Title Drop, while Craig dons a pair of Dwayne's trademark flip-top shades!) In the climax when Craig fights Erica, she puts on a Southern US accent a la Whitley - and Craig cracks she isn't fooling anybody...
    • In Coopers on the Run, Marissa mentions that K.C hates homecoming. Nothing too special...until one realizes that the episode aired on July 7th, 2017, the same day that Spider-Man: Homecoming premiered...which also starred Zendaya (K.C.)
  • Bowdlerise: Happens on British airings of "Accidents Will Happen" when the audio track obscures Marisa's mention of KC's fanny pack due to fanny being UK slang for... um... lady parts.
  • Casting Gag: K.C. is a vegetarian, just like Zendaya in real life.
  • The Danza: In "Runaway Robot," Simone Deveraux is played by Raven-Symone.
  • Dawson Casting: Since the series premiered in January 2015, two months before Veronica Dunne's 20th birthday, the trope went into effect for Marisa. By the time the series ended, Zendaya and Kamil McFadden were too old to be playing high schoolers.
  • Directed by Cast Member: Kadeem Hardison directed "Assignment: Get That Assignment" and "Sup Dawg?"
  • In-Joke: In "Re-Activated Part 1," K.C. tells Marisa she tried to get into the glee club but was rejected... because she can't sing.
  • Playing Their Own Twin: Zendaya plays K.C. and her double in the multiparter "Double Crossed," and in "Runaway Robot, Part 2" Trinitee Stokes ups it to Playing Their Own Small Army Of Judys.
