  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: All the tracks on A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO FAKING YOUR DEATH form a coherent story from beginning to end, but the album was not intentionally written as one. In March 2020, Jhariah released To Mend the Sun, which had three songs that would end up on BEGINNER'S GUIDE: "PRESSURE BOMB!!!!", "Whose Eye Is It Anyways???", and "To Take for Granted". In early 2020, he began working on more singles because he felt he lost track of his new album: those ended up being "DEBT COLLECTOR", "Flight of the Crows", and "Needed a Change of Pace". Jhariah said that he didn't realize these singles formed a story until later. So when BEGINNER'S GUIDE came out in July 2021, only two more tracks were needed to bring the whole thing together: the Album Intro Track and "BAD LUCK!".
  • Teasing Creator: Jhariah has stated that The Great Tale of How I Ruined It All does have a coherent story, and all the details of it are included within the album. Despite this, nobody has exactly pinned down what all of it means.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • "DEBT COLLECTOR" was planned to be released on the deluxe version of To Mend the Sun in July 2020. In March 2022, Jhariah shared an early version of the song, with the same lyrics and core idea but less polished.
    • The line "pressure bomb in a goddamn knife fight" in "PRESSURE BOMB!!!!" was originally "goddamn gunfight." Jhariah "thought it was dumb" and changed it while recording. However, he forgot to change the lyrics before publishing them, so some sites still have the wrong version.
  • Word of God:
    • While Great Tale and Beginner's Guide do not connect to each other, they are in the same universe.
    • Because most of it is re-releases or remasters of existing material, Jhariah counts A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO FAKING YOUR DEATH as an EP, despite it being long enough to count as an album. He counts TRUST CEREMONY as his second album due to it being mainly original material.
  • Working Title: According to Jhariah on Twitter, "DEBT COLLECTOR"'s original title was "LIE! LIE! LIE!"
