  • B-Team Sequel: Jetpack Joyride 2 is primarily made by Dan The Man and Battle Racing Stars developers from Halfbrick's Spanish subsidiary. At that point, most of the original staff that worked on JJ1 has retired from Halfbrick Studios (The only person from the 2011 development team of Jetpack Joyride directly involved in making of the sequel is Cedar Jones, one of the audio composers who would leave the company shortly after the game's full release) and the new one is busy with the updates for the first game.
  • Content Leak:
    • Before a victory theme was added to 0.1.10 update, an early version of it was Dummied Out from the previous versions.
    • Various elements of Moon Tomb, including some enemy designs, backgrounds and it's theme were found inside the files of open beta version almost a year before Moon Tomb was added into the full release.
  • Milestone Celebration: The game was announced and soft launched 10 years after the first Jetpack Joyride. The initial global release was scheduled for September of the same year, just in time for the first game's 10th anniversary on September 1st, but delayed for another year so that the final product wouldn't feel rushed.
  • Refitted for Sequel: The original game had a short lived A B test back in 2018, with many mechanics from it (like upgradable jetpacks and progression system) being refitted for Jetpack Joyride 2. More information about it can be found here.
  • Sequel Gap: Almost 10 years between the original Jetpack Joyride and a softlaunch of this game. If you count to the global release on Apple Arcade, then it's 11 years.
  • What Could Have Been: Shares with the rest of the series here.
