Trivia / Interstella 5555

Go To

  • International Coproduction: Interstella 5555 was a collaboration between France's Wild Bunch, Daft Life and BAC Films, and Japan's Toei Animation. It was distributed by the United Kingdom's EMI/Virgin Records.
    • This is given a nod by a football match shown on a security guard's monitor. The teams playing are from France and Japan. Furthermore, the score is, respectively, 2 to 1, to symbolize the number of collaborators for each country.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Daft Punk and Cédric Hervet were fans of Leiji Matsumoto's works.
  • Short Run in Peru: The first four parts of Interstella 5555 originally premiered on Cartoon Network on August 31, 2001 during a special edition of it's Toonami: The Midnight Run (precursor to the Anime Adult Swim block), two years before the film's official release.
  • What Could Have Been: Daft Punk originally envisioned a Live-Action Adaptation of their album Discovery, but it was eventually scrapped.
